SF Secures District 5 Title


Southern Fulton won the District 5-A girls cross-country championship at Bedford County Technical Center October 23. Southern Fulton Lady Indians cross- country squad had an impressive showing with all seven teammates finishing among the top 18 runners last Wednesday.

Winning the District 5- A cross-country title during the meet against Windber, Chestnut Ridge and Johnstown Christian, the team also automatically secured a berth to states.

Macey Hollenshead led the way for the Indians, having finished in fourth place overall with her recorded time of 22:00. Teammate Celina Merchant was tenth with her time of 23:55, while Olivia Mottern was 13th having finished the meet in 24:23. Madison Baker’s time of 24:35 earned her a 14th place ranking, and Shaelyn Wawro and Linsey Pryor were 15th and 16th with their respective times of 25:12 and 25:15. Emma Williams rounded out the day in 18th place with a qualifying time of 25:57.
