Revival Fall revival services will be held at Jerusalem Christian Church with Evangelist Phillip Johnson October 27- 30 at 7 p.m. nightly. Special music each night to include Almost There, Scared Stiff, Gospel Grass and Pastor Gene Harding. Everyone is welcome. Christmas Celebration A community Christmas celebration will be held Friday, December 6, at 6 p.m., in Akersville Church. Snowdate is Friday, December 13. Akersville Church is located in Brush Creek Township on PA 915. The event is free of charge. Baked goods are welcome. Parenting Courses McConnellsburg United Presbyterian Church and Fulton County Family Partnership are offering a series of free parenting groups open to the community October 24, November 7 and 21 and December 5, at Mc- Connellsburg United Presbyterian Church, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Childcare provided. Free Family Programs Free Family Place programs for parents and preschoolers begin Friday, October 25, at 10:30 a.m., at Fulton County Library community room and will run each Friday through November 22. For more information, please contact Linda Burton at 717-485-5327, Ext. 207.

Free Movie Free Friday movie October 25, at 6:10 p.m., in the community room of Fulton County Library.

Shooting Match Hustontown Area Volunteer Fire Co. will sponsor a shooting match Saturday, November 2, at 1 p.m. Sign-in starts at noon. First- and second-place prizes awarded and shells provided. New season, new features.

Open Stage Hustontown Area Volunteer Co. will hold an open stage November 23, beginning at 6 p.m. Kitchen opens at 5 p.m.

Halloween Parade McConnellsburg annual firemen’s Halloween parade will be held Thursday, October 31, beginning at 7 p.m. The parade route will run from East Maple Street to the McConnellsburg Firehall. Lineup will begin in front of Carbaugh’s Coin Laundry. Area children are invited to visit the firehall following the parade for light refreshments.

Halloween Party McConnellsburg Alumni & Friends will hold a Halloween party Friday, October 25, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Please come in costume.

Celebration of Veterans The United Methodist churches of McConnellsburg would like to celebrate our nation’s heroes. On Saturday, November 9, all Fulton County veterans and one guest are invited to an evening of celebration, patriotism and remembrance. McConnellsburg/Cito United Methodist churches will sponsor a ham dinner at the Fulton Theater. Veterans will gather at 5:30 p.m. for dinner at 6 p.m., followed by a performance of “The Home of the Brave.” This musical presentation recounts the nation’s history and honors those who sacrificed to preserve freedom.To make a reservation, please call 485-4815 and select option #1 followed by option #2 for the church office by Friday, November 1. The event is totally free, a gift to veterans.

Christmas Bazaar A Christmas bazaar will be held Friday, November 1, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Saturday, November 2, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., at Pleasant Grove Christian Church, three miles west of Needmore. Sponsored by the ladies group. There will be homemade soups, sandwiches, cakes, baked goods, pies, etc. More information may be obtained by calling 717-573-2567.

Christmas Bazaar St. Thomas Episcopal Church, 2 East High Street, Hancock, will hold a Christmas bazaar Saturday, November 2, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Crafts, ornaments and gifts, white elephant table, baked goods and soups to go. Lunch will be served.

Open Mic Night Needmore Volunteer Fire Co. will host open mic night Saturday, October 26, and Saturday, November 23, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Doors open at 4 p.m.

X Card Shoots Fulton County Pistol & Rifle Club X card shoots will run every Friday night until November 22. Kitchen will be open.

Senior Center Social Night Senior center social night will be held October 25 at Warfordsburg Senior Center’s with a “harvest theme.” Seniors 60 and older come dressed in costume or not and enjoy an evening of 50s and 60s music with Barb and Forrest. Bring a covered dish. Meal is at 6 p.m. Music starts around 7 pm. For more information call 717-294-6020.

New York City Trip Modern Woodmen of America Camp 7948 will sponsor a bus trip to New York City Saturday, December 21. The bus departs From McConnellsburg Courthouse at 6 a.m. A stop will be made for breakfast at approximately at 11:30 a.m. Depart New York City near 9th Avenue between 44th and 45th streets at 6:15 p.m. A stop will be made halfway home for supper. Estimated arrival back in Mc- Connellsburg is 12:15 a.m. Cost is $50 for adults and children under 12 $45. New York City Trip Modern Woodmen will sponsor a “day on your own” bus trip Saturday, December 7 to New York City. Leave McConnellsburg at 6 a.m. and home around 11:30 p.m. Cost is $50 per person. Casino/Outlets Trip A Sands Casino and Outlets trip is planned to Bethlehem, Pa., Saturday, November 2. The bus will leave the VFW at 6 a.m. Cost is $40, which includes $30 free slot voucher plus $5 food voucher. There are 16 restaurants and 24 outlets (Coach, Under Armor, Tommy Hilfiger, Guess, Corningware, Dress Barn, Van Huesen, Izod, etc.) Make reservations with Linda Lynch at 717-552-5422 or bring money to VFW. No refunds. First ones to pay get seats.

Free Flu Immunizations Free flu immunizations for Fulton County residents will be held November 8 at McConnellsburg Senior Center from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., and 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.; November 12 at Warfordsburg Senior Center from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., and November 12 at Hustontown Senior Center from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Vaccines are available to Fulton County residents 18 years and older.

Alzheimer’s/Dementia Support Group Alzheimer’s/ dementia support group meets the third Tuesday monthly at 6:30 p.m. in Fulton County Medical Center, Pearl Room. More information may be obtained by calling 717-485-6108.

Community Wellness/Silver Sneakers/Prime Community Wellness/Silver Sneakers/Prime will be held Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, from 6 a.m. to 7 a.m. and 1 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., and Wednesday and Friday, 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., at Fulton County Medical Center cardiopulmonary rehab gym. The cost is based on insurance. Call Kim or Patti at 717-485- 6149 to see if insurance provider is accepted. Community Wellness is $40/month/person or $70/month/couple.

Grief Support Group Grief support group will meet October 10 through November 2, from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m., at Fulton County Medical Center, Second Floor, Pearl Room. More information may be obtained by calling 717-377-2276.

Nutrition Class Fulton County nutrition awareness classes are held at Warfordsburg Senior Center on the third Monday of every month. When the third Monday is a holiday, it is held the fourth Monday from 10 a.m. to noon. To register or sign up for lunch call 717-294-6020.

McConnellsburg AA Meetings The McConnellsburg Chapter of Alcoholics Anonymous will meet on Wednesdays at 7 p.m. every week at the alumni building basement, McConnellsburg.

Veterans Assistance Dan McIntyre, assistant state service office of Veterans of Foreign Wars, will be at McConnellsburg VFW to assist veterans with service-connected disability claims. Spaghetti Dinner A spaghetti dinner will be held Saturday, November 9, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., at Buck Valley Christian Church, 2281 Harmonia Road, Buck Valley. Menu includes spaghetti, garlic bread, tossed salad, fruit cup, dessert and beverage. Cost is $5 for adults, $3 for children 5-12 and under 5 is free and $20 per family. Proceeds and donations go to Hagerstown Rescue Mission.

Pancake Supper Whips Cove Church will hold a pancake supper Saturday, November 2, at 5 p.m. Old-fashioned buckwheat and buttermilk pancakes, eggs, pork pudding, sausage and ham, sausage gravy and drinks will be served. Spaghetti Dinner Saint Stephen Catholic Church will sponsor an Election Day spaghetti dinner Tuesday, November 5. Lunch will be served from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. and dinner will be served from 4:40 p.m. to 7 p.m. Meatball subs will be available. Cost is $6 for adults and $3 for children 12 and under. Takeouts will be available.

Republican Dinner Fulton County Republican Committee fall dinner will be held Friday, October 25, at 6:30 p.m., at Hustontown Firehall. Pancake Supper Bedford Chapel Church on Rt. 643, 4570 Flickerville Rd, Warfordsburg, will hold an all-you-can-eat pancake supper Saturday, October 26, from 4:30 p.m. until 7 p.m. Menu includes pancakes, buckwheat cakes, sausage, sausage gravy, scrambled eggs, coffee and juice. Everyone welcome.

Benefit Dinner A benefit dinner for Tom H. Deshong for medical expenses will be held at McConnellsburg Firehall November 2, from noon to 4 p.m. Menu will be spaghetti and salad. Price is adults $8; children 5-12, $4; and children 4 and under are free. Also available will be raffle tickets and basket tickets. Need not be present for drawings.

Turkey Dinner St. Mary’s Church just north of Shade Gap on Rt. 522, is having its annual all-you-can-eat turkey dinner, Sunday, October 27, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Adult and takeout dinners are $8, children 5-11 are $4, and 4 and under are free.

Pancake Breakfast A pancake and sausage breakfast will be held October 26 at Asbury United Methodist Church, 7404 Lincoln Highway, Harrisonville, from 6 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Regular, blueberry and buckwheat pancakes, sausage, fruit, coffee and tea will be available. Donations accepted.

Free Meal A free meal will be served the second Tuesday of each month at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 220 North Third Street. Please join in for good fellowship.

MEETINGS

P.O.W.E.R. Meetings P.O.W.E.R. (Parents Offering Wisdom, Education and Release) will meet on the following dates: November 11, December 9, January 13 and 27 and February 20 and 24. The goal of the group is to support and educate the community, the addict and the families of ad- dicts to the issues and problems that can occur when dealing with addicts and their recovery programs. Emotional and possible financial support are also offered to any individual who might need it to successfully overcome an addiction. The meeting is held at 292 Buchanan Trail. PASR Meeting To all school retirees, mark your calendars. Fulton Fall PASR meeting will be held at Hustontown Firehall during the morning of November 12. Registration starts at 9 a.m. The speaker, Ken Keebaugh, will talk about the one-room schools in the county. All are invited to bring items for the raffle to support the scholarship fund. Monetary donations for the Food Basket are also welcome. PASR has a storehouse of information available. This can be a benefit to all during retirement. PASR welcomes all school retirees and all friends of education, not just teachers. A delicious meal is planned with chicken and ham for only $10.50. MHS Class Of 1964 Reunion McConnellsburg High School Class of 1964’s annual get-together will be held Saturday, October 26, at 6 p.m., at New Fort Restaurant in Fort Littleton.
