Forbes Road ( 4- 5, 2- 3 ICC) opened up a close game with a 22-point second quarter and held on for a 53-44 home court win Monday over Southern Huntingdon. Logan Deshong led the Cardinals with 15 points, while Grayson Hall and Justin Garman added 12 apiece. JV – SHC 50 FR 20 (FR – Shaneman, Nichols 7 points each)

McConnellsburg 59

Northern Bedford had three players in double figures to pick up its first win of the season Monday, upsetting the McConnellsburg Spartans (4-5, 3-2 ICC) in an Inter County matchup 60 to 59. Dominick Reed led all scorers with 25 points and pulled down 10 boards. Colton Mellott had 12 points, and Kolby Brown added 10. JV MHS 51 NBC 40 (MHS – Sipes 16).

The Greencastle-Antrim Blue Devils defeated the Mc- Connellsburg Spartans 69- 63 at Greencastle Saturday evening. McConnellsburg placed three players in double figures. Kolby Brown had a game-high 15 points, Dominic Reed had 14, Lucas McClain 13 and Colton Mellott added 9.

Dominick Reed poured in 28 points and led the Spartans (4-3, 3-1 ICC) to a 52-44 win over visiting Fannett Metal in an Inter County League match Dec. 4. Colton Mellott added 11 points. JVMHS 48 FM 25 ( MHS – Johnson 18 points)

Southern Fulton (4-3, 3-1 ICC) defeated county rival Forbes Road (3-5, 1-3 ICC) in a league game at home last Friday 57 to 28. The Indians jumped out to an early lead and never trailed. Southern Fulton was led by Gabe Stotler with 12 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 steals. Justin Morris added 6 points, 6 assists, and 2 steals. Josh Morris added 10 points and 3 assists, while Josh Stocker and Isaac Fitz each added 8 points. Forbes Road was led by Grayson Hall with 10 points and 3 assists. JV – SF 38 FR 12 (SF – Pittman 13 points)

Shalom 48

Forbes Road (3-4) ended a three-game losing streak with a victory at Shalom Christian last Thursday. The Cardinals turned a 14-11 deficit after one period into a 25-21 lead at the intermission. Shalom surged back in the third period behind a barrage of three-point goals, with the teams trading the lead before Forbes ended the period ahead 42-39. The Cardinals stretched the margin at the free throw line through the fourth quarter, converting 9 of 12 chances to finish the 59-48 win. Forbes was paced by Grayson Hall’s 26 points. Justin Garman added 12. JV – Shalom 43 Forbes Road 38 (FR – Clippinger 11, Mc- Gowan 11)

Shade got off to a hot start and cruised to a 78 to 58 win Jan. 2 over the visiting Southern Fulton Indians (3- 3), who were led by Josh Morris with 19 points, and Justin Morris’s 13 points, 3 assists and 3 steals. Gabe Stotler added 13 points, 9 rebounds, and 2 steals, while Josh Stocker had 7 points, 4 rebounds, and 4 assists in the loss. JV – Southern Fulton 51 Shade 27 (SF – Luke Fitz, 12 points)

Greencastle 43
McConnellsburg 28

The Lady Blue Devils made it a doubleheader sweep of the Spartans Saturday, defeating Mc- Connellsburg 43-28. The Spartans took a 12-10 lead at the end of the first quarter; Greencastle outscored McConnellsburg in the second quarter 16-7 to lead by seven at the half. The Blue Devils allowed just nine points in the second half. McConnellsburg was lead by Maddie Ross, who scored all of her game-high 15 points in the first half. Katlin Truax added 6 points for the Spartans.

Southern Fulton (3-2, 3-1 ICC) traveled to Forbes Road (1-4, 0-4 ICC) and picked up a 45 to 35 ICC win Jan. 3. Jessi Covalt led the Indians with 15 points. Drew Gordon and Lindsay Hollenshead contributed 14 and 6 points in the win. Quincy McMath paced the Cardinals with 13 points, while Mara Broadwater added 8. JV – SF 27 – FR 16 (SF L. Rhoades 9, FR H. Skiles 6)

McConnellsburg 37

Fannett-Metal hosted McConnellsburg (1-7, 0-4 ICC) in an ICC matchup last Thursday that saw the Tigers earning a 54-37 win. FM showed no signs of a holiday, jumping out to a 12-7 first quarter lead and extending it to 29-14 by the half. At one point the Tigers had a 24-point fourth-quarter lead only to have a determined Spartan squad whittle that to 14 and force a Tiger timeout. Kylie Brown led the Spartans with 10 points, and Katelyn Truax added 9. JV – FM 56 MHS 30 (MHS- Perry 8, Brown 8)

Johnstown Christian 21

Forbes Road (2-4) made the long trip to Johnstown Christian Monday and downed the Blue Jays 44 to 21 in a non-league game. The Cardinals were led by Quincy McMath with 15 points, and Madison Hays added 8 points. No JV game.
