Retail Theft

Two women were arrested for stealing items from the McConnellsburg Dollar General on Dec. 29 at 1:48 p.m. According to state police, Chelsie Norris, 25, Mc- Connellsburg, and Karmen Shiftlett, 23, McConnellsburg, were arrested after stealing a pair of black Cordova gloves valued at $5 and a pair of black shorts valued at $5.

Criminal Mischief

Property damage occurred on the 400 block of Buchanan Trail sometime between Dec. 27 at noon and Dec. 28 at 4 p.m. According to state police, an unknown actor vandalized the Confederate grave site along the roadway by smearing green paint on the gravestone.


A man was arrested Dec. 30 for assaulting a woman on Stoney Break Road. According to state police, Bradley Sipes, 45, Warfordsburg, was arrested for aggravated assault, simple assault, and harassment that occurred on Dec. 27 at 6:30 p.m.


A man assaulted a woman on Peach Orchard Road on Dec. 27 between 6:30-7 p.m. According to state police, Mark Smith, 46, Artemas, struck a 19-yearold female in the forehead.


A man was arrested on Dec. 29 at 1 a.m. along Buchanan Trail. According to state police, a 26-year-old McConnellsburg male was observed operating his vehicle while committing multiple traffic violations. Several traffic stops were attempted, and the pursuit lasted approximately 27 minutes over a course of 22 miles. The driver was eventually stopped and taken into custody and applicable charges were filed.


According to state police, Karen Welch, 36, Needmore, was arrested on Jan. 1 at 11:20 p.m. after striking a 56- year-old Needmore female in the face with an open hand.


A man was arrested for breaking into the Citgo in McConnellsburg on Dec. 29 at 4:05 p.m. According to state police, Rylan Kling, 20, Shade Gap, broke a window and entered the gas station. He then stole numerous packs of cigarettes and cans of chewing tobacco. After leaving the scene he was arrested, charged with burglary, and placed in the Bedford County Jail.

Scattering Rubbish

Someone spread rubbish at 1900 Green Lane Rd., Bethel Twp., between the Dec. 12, 2018, and Jan. 1, 2019. According to state police, Levi Little, 36, Mc- Connellsburg, found that an unknown person had scattered 20 black rubber tires on his property.


A domestic dispute turned physical at 3308 Stoneybreak Rd. on Dec. 15 at 9:20 a.m. According to state police, Angelmarie Unger- Strait, 40, Warfordsburg, and Daniel Strait, 36, Warfordsburg, each received scratch marks on the hands and face during the altercation.


The vending machine at Tritle’s Meat Market, 107 Lincoln Way East, was broken into sometime between Jan. 2 at 4:30 p.m. and Jan. 3 at 12:30 p.m. According to state police, $10 worth of U.S. currency was stolen and $200 worth of damage was done to the machine. Criminal Mischief

A minor was arrested for making a prank call to Mc- Donald’s in McConnellsburg on Dec. 11 at 10:20 a.m. According to state police, a 15-year-old McConnellsburg male placed an order via telephone for 20 orders of McNuggets valued at $69.90, a McChicken sandwich valued at $5, and several orders of french fries valued at $33.48 and then did not pay or pick up the order. Charges were filed for criminal mischief.

PFA Violation

A man broke a protection from abuse order between Aug. 14 and Dec. 18 of 2018 at Brooklyn Drive. According to state police, Jamie Peck, 48, McConnellsburg, sent multiple text messages to a daughter of a 45-year-old McConnellsburg female.

Firearm Not In Compliance

On Jan. 2 at 10:11 a.m., a state parole officer requested a routine compliance check at 66 Hillside Estates. According to state police, a firearm was discovered inside the residence of the 31- year-old McConnellsburg male. The accused, who is a convicted felon, was taken into custody.

Firearm Found

A firearm was found along Sheepskin Hollow Road on Dec. 26 at 3:34 p.m. According to state police, the owner was located a short time later.
