Sobriety Checkpoint

This is a notice to alert the public that a sobriety checkpoint will be conducted by the state police in Fulton County in the upcoming weeks. Motorists that encounter the checkpoint will be stopped briefly. When there is an indication that a driver has consumed alcohol or controlled substances, or committed any other violation of the law, the occupants may be detained for further investigation. Primary emphasis will be on driving under the influence violations, but all laws will be enforced.


An unknown person attempted to set a Verizon account using another’s personal information. According to state police, Christopher Martz, 45, McConnellsburg, was at a Walnut Street residence on March 6 when someone attempted the purchase at noon.

Criminal Mischief

A truck was egged at a Great Cove Road residence on March 11 at 9 p.m. According to state police, Ronald Brown, 23, Fort Littleton, found his 2015 Dodge Ram 3500 had been struck by several eggs. The unknown actor then fled in an unknown direction by unknown means.

Single-car Crash

A 1994 Ford Mustang crashed along Spring Road on March 13 at 12:27 p.m. According to state police, Linda K. Skidmore, 39, Warfordsburg, was traveling through the intersection crossing over Flickerville Road onto Spring Road when she lost control on the edge of the gravel roadway. The Mustang became airborne and struck a manure pit splash wall, damaging it heavily. Skidmore received severe injuries to her right leg and was flown to Winchester Medical Center.


According to state police, a 16-year-old McConnellsburg male was arrested for assaulting a 16-year-old Mc- Connellsburg male on March 12 at 11:32 a.m. on East Cherry Street.
