A crash occurred when a 2003 Volkswagen Bug was traveling north on Aughwick Road and failed to stay in its lane on Aug. 25 at 10 p.m. According to state police, Jeffrey Bigelow, 69, Burnt Cabins, travelled into the southbound lane, striking the front bumper of a 2017 Dodge Caravan. Bigelow then fled the scene. Both vehicles also had slight damage to their driver’s side rearview mirrors. No injuries were associated with the crash.

Public Drunkenness

A man was found extremely intoxicated on Brooklyn Drive on Sept. 5 at 7:13 p.m. According to state police, Steven Barthalow, 45, McConnellsburg, was found walking intoxicated after a report was received. Barthalow was located and taken into custody.


Police were called to an active domestic dispute at Apple Blossom Lane on Sept. 4 at 6:20 p.m. According to state police, Dearl Smalley, 41, Harrisonville, pushed a 36-year-old female from Harrisonville to the ground. A non-traffic citation was filed.

Public Drunkenness

A woman was found to be under the influence on the 400 block of Lincoln Way East on Sept. 8 at 12:17 a.m. According to state police, a 24-year-old female from Mc- Connellsburg was found lying unconscious on the sidewalk from being under the influence of alcohol. Charges were filed.

DUI/Drug Possession

A woman driving on I-70 near mile marker 160 was pulled over for a vehicle code violation on Aug. 15 at noon. According to state police, a 50-year-old female from Mc- Keesport was exhibiting signs of impairment and was subsequently arrested for a DUI. During a probable cause search, marijuana and drug paraphernalia were found.

Drug Possession

A traffic stop near mile marker 160 on I-70 resulted in the detection of marijuana and paraphernalia on Aug. 26 at 7 p.m. According to state police, the odor of marijuana was detected upon approaching the vehicle of a 21-year-old male from Waynesboro. When a search was conducted, drug paraphernalia was found.


A crash occurred along Lincoln Highway on Sept. 10 at 9:19 a.m. According to state police, Jamey Clark, 37, Everett, was traveling east on Route 30 as Dale Humbert, 67, Big Cove Tannery, was traveling west. Clark failed to negotiate a right-hand curve in the roadway in rainy conditions and crossed into the westbound lane, striking Humbert. Both vehicles sustained disabling damage. Clark suffered minor injuries.

Retail Theft

Merchandise was stolen from the McConnellsburg Dollar General on Sept. 10 at 5:46 p.m. According to state police, the unknown suspect stole Kiss glue, a Papermate mechanical pencil, a Dollar General office combination lock, and Loctite super auto glue. Anyone with any information is asked to contact PSP McConnellsburg at 717- 485-3131.

Retail Theft

Several items were stolen from the McConnellsburg Sheetz on Sept. 10 at 5:05 p.m. According to state police, a tall, thin white male with a short beard wearing a black hoodie, gray pants, and a white baseball hat came in with a black duffle bag and put several items in the bag before leaving. Anyone with information is asked to contact PSP McConnellsburg at 717-485-3131.

Criminal Mischief

Property was damaged at 293 Barnetts Run Rd. on Sept. 10 at 10 a.m. According to state police, an unknown actor came on to the property and damaged an electric wire that powers the owner’s shed sometime overnight. The actor then fled in an unknown direction by unknown means.
