Father/Teen Paint Night Fulton County Family Partnership Fatherhood Initiative is hosting a free Father Teen (13-17-year-old) paint night February 16, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., at Overly Raker building. Free Dads & Donuts Fulton County Family Partnership Fatherhood Initiative will host a free Dads and Donuts event February 17 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., at Fulton Theater. Please RSVP at 717-485-6767, Ext. 222.

250 Club Drawing A 250 club drawing will be held March 17 at the American Legion. Sponsored by Fulton Honor Guard and Post 561 SAL. For tickets see an honor guard or SAL member or stop at the post or VFW post. Cost is $20 for two people.

Senior Center Dance Dance to the music of The Good Times gospel band Saturday, February 17, at Broad Top Senior Center in Saxton. Doors open at 5 p.m. Kitchen opens at 5 p.m. Music from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Donation is $3.

Mic Night Mic Night will be held at Warfordsburg Senior Center February 10, from 5 p.m to 9 p.m., weather permitting. Kitchen opens at 4 p.m. Food and drink will be available. Monetary donations are appreciated. Everyone is welcome. For more information call 717-294-6020.

Hall Walking Hall walking at McConnellsburg High School is open to the public. Hall walking will be Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Free Walking There will be free walking in the alumni community building every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 11 a.m to 1 p.m. If the Central Fulton School District is closed due to the weather the gym will not be open.

Preschool Registration Fulton County Vocational School is now accepting applications for preschool. Preschool will be held at McConnellsburg Elementary School, 151 East Cherry Street, March 13 to May 17 for children ages 3-5 who are also potty trained, from 8:30 a.m. to 10:15 a.m., Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday (parents choose one day a week their children will attend). Save The Date McConnellsburg Alumni and Friends Association will honor the third class of Fulton County All- Sports Hall of Fame April 6, 2018. Members to be inducted will be Don Fowler, Ralph Fraker, C. Owen Fries, John Glazier, Herb Hardin, Fran Mellott, Carole Palmer and Larry Palmer.

Scouts Accepting Members Troop 43, chartered by the United Presbyterian Church of McConnellsburg, is accepting boys age 11-17. GSR Sponorship The 2018 sponsorship program managed by the Grease Steam and Rust Association to fund the 2018 Fulton Fall Folk Festival October 19-21 and parade on October 20 is now open. GSR is asking for financial support to keep this event operating. SF Registration Southern Fulton School District will hold pre-kindergarten registration Wednesday, March 21, and Thursday, March 22, for children who will be 3 or 4 years old before August 1, 2018. Kindergarten registration will be held March 21 and March 22 for children who will be 5 years old before August 1, 2018. To register for either class call 717- 294-3400 to schedule an appointment.

CF Registration Central Fulton School District will hold registration for the 2018-2019 school year Monday, February 26; Tuesday, February 27; and Wednesday, February 28. Children who will be age 4 on or before the first day of school, August 22, 2018, are eliglble for K4 program and chilren who will be age 5 on or before the first day of school are eligible for the K5 kindergarten program. Please note that students who are currently enrolled in the K4 program do not need to reregister for K5. Contact Stacy Morton at 717-485-7072 to schedule an appointment.

Pumpkin Contest McConnellsburg Motor & Implement is sponsoring a pumpkin growing contest during Fulton Fall Folk Festival. The Grease, Steam & Rust Association will be working with them to coordinate this program. To participate seeds must come from the sponsors and are available as of February 9, 2018. Veterans Service Office Winter Hours Instead of Wednesdays, the Fulton County Veterans Service Office will now be open Fridays, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. This change will be effective through March 30, 2018.

Meals Available Once a month volunteers pack up boxes of food to be given to anyone in need in the Waterfall area. Pickup is at Center United Methodist Church community building on Doran Road, Waterfall. More information may be obtained by calling 814-685-3780. Calls will be kept strictly confidential.

FOOD AND DINING

Soup Night Soup night will be held every Wednesday until March 21, from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., at McConnellsburg United Presbyterian Church. In the event Central Fulton School District is closed or has an early dismissal soup night will be cancelled. Check out on www.mupc.org.

Spaghetti Supper A free spaghetti supper will be held at Asbury United Methodist Church, 7404 Lincoln Highway, Harrisonville, on February 13, from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Spaghetti, salad, dessert and beverage provided. Donations are gratefully accepted. All are welcome.

Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper All are welcome to a Shrove Tuesday pancake supper February 13, at 6:30 p.m., followed by games for adults and children in Warfordsburg Faith Center.

Pancake/Sausage Breakfast A pancake and sausage breakfast will be held at Asbury United Methodist Church, 7404 Lincoln Highway, Harrisonville, February 24, from 6:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Made-from-scratch pancakes include plain, blueberry and buckwheat, scrambled eggs, puddin meat, orange juice, coffee and fruit. Cost is by donation. All are welcome.

Potpie Dinner Needmore Bible Church will hold a potpie dinner Saturday, February 10, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Served will be ham, chicken and beef potpie. Donations accepted for missions. Contact Nikki Schultz at 717-552-6246.

Steak/Chicken Dinner A steak and chicken dinner will be held Saturday, March 31, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., at Pleasant Union Church, 259 Pleasant Union Church Road, Clearville. Served will be cubed steak, pulled pork, chicken, mashed potatoes, green beans, applesauce, roll, soft freeze ice cream and cake. Donations only. Takeouts available.

Turkey Dinner Breezewood Volunteer Fire Co. will hold a turkey dinner at the hall February 11, at 11 a.m. Meals will be available to eat-in or to take out. Takeout meals can be ordered the day of the dinner by calling 814-735-4418. Mark calendar: March 3 - fundraising evening to benefit Co. 40 at Fairways Bar & Grill at Down River Golf Course from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. (Co. 40 receives 10 percent of food sales); March 11, April 8 and June 10 - turkey dinner; May 20 - cruise-in/chicken barbecue with vendors and games. Pancake Supper Whips Cove Church, 5044 Moss Road, will hold a pancake supper February 10, at 5 p.m. Menu will consist of buttermilk and old-fashioned buckwheat pancakes, ham, sausage links, puddin and sausage gravy, and fried and scrambled eggs. Coffee, hot chocolate and orange juice will also be available. Donations are accepted and appreciated. For more information call 717-294-3229.

Autism Support Group Autism support group meets the last Tuesday of the month quarterly at 6 p.m. Call Lauren Everetts 717-485-6107 for details.

Nutrition Class Fulton County nutrition awareness classes are held at Warfordsburg Senior Center on the third Monday of every month from 10:30 a.m. to noon. When the third Monday is a holiday, the class is held the fourth Monday. To register or sign up for lunch call 717-294-6020.

Free Lunch Lunch will be served every first Friday of each month from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., at McConnellsburg United Methodist Faith and Life Center, across from the courthouse. Parking available behind the church. Soup, sandwiches, salad bar, potato bar and dessert bar are served. Dine-in or carryouts with donations accepted.

Free Meal A free meal will be served the second Tuesday of each month at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 220 North Third Street. Please join in for good fellowship.

NAR-ANON Discontinued NAR-ANON family group has discontinued due to lack of interest. There continues to be a meeting in Greencastle.

Operation Save A Life Anyone concerned that a loved one is at risk for overdosing on heroin or a prescription pain medication, this training is for you February 13, from 10:30 a.m. to noon, at Warfordsburg Senior Center, 209 Long Hollow Road, Warfordsburg. Training participants will learn opioid types, how to recognize, respond to and prevent an opioid overdose, how to administer Intra-Nasal Naloxone (Narcan) to reverse an overdose. A free dose of Nasal NARCAN will be distributed at the conclusion of training. Registration is required for the training and spaces are limited. For more information call 717- 485-6767 option 0.

Alcoholics Anonymous Meetings Alcoholics Anonymous meetings are held every Monday morning at 11 a.m. (even holidays), at Fulton County Medical Center Community Health and Wellness building located at 294 Lincoln Way West and every Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the basement of Mc- Connellsburg alumni building, 301 East Maple Street. Both are open meetings and anyone can attend.

Narcotics Anonymous Narcotics Anonymous (NA) meets two times per week in McConnellsburg. NA is a 12-step fellowship whose primary focus is “that no addict need die from the disease of addiction.” Members share their successes and challenges in overcoming addictive addiction by learning how to live drug-free lives through applying the principles contained within the twelve steps and traditions of NA. Anyone is welcome no matter what drug/drink was used, how much or little you have or how big or small desire is to change. There are members with long-term recovery to help. Meetings are Sunday and Thursday at 7 p.m. at Fulton County Medical Center (enter through the south entrance and take elevator to the second floor) in the Pearl Room. Saturday night is closed. Singles Meeting Knobsville singles will meet Monday, February 12, at 11 a.m., at K’s Place for a valentine’s party.

Special Olympics Team Meeting Special Olympics of Fulton County management team will meet  February 14, at 4 p.m., at Fulton County Medical Center in Barmont 3 (use south entrance.) Anyone interested is invited to attend. For more information contact eott@fcfpinc.org.

Pesticide Meeting Pesticide recertification meeting will be held at McConnellsburg High School cafeteria February 22, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. This meeting will be for 2 CAT credits and 2 CORE credits. If school is canceled at McConnellsburg on this date the meeting will be canceled. There is no registration required or fee to attend. Any questions call the extension office at 717-325-4870

RELIGION

Winter Retreat A winter retreat will be held at Camp Tohiglo, 10670 Fort Loudon Road, Mercersburg, February 9-10, sponsored by the Fellowship of Bible Churches. Speakers will be Rev. Manfred Kober speaking on Bible prophecy and George Michael speaking on Biblical economics and government. For more information call Rev. Dwight Morgan at 717-597-8127.

St. Stephen Services Saint Stephen Church will hold Ash Wednesday services February 14. Services will be at noon; liturgy of the word with distribution of ashes and mass at 5:30 p.m. with distribution of ashes. Stations of the Cross will be Friday evening at 5 p.m.

Ash Wednesday Service Ash Wednesday service will be held at Cito United Methodist Church February 14, at 7 p.m. There will be worship, communion and distribution of ashes. Speakers will be Pastors Robin Baer and Chad Herrold. The church is located at 3746 Cito Road, McConnellsburg. All are welcome.

Special Services Ash Wednesday will be observed February 14, at 7 p.m., in Warfordsburg Faith Center sanctuary. A light meal will be served February 15, at 6:15 p.m., followed by the first of Kyle Idleman’s video series “An Easter Experience ... My Life Has A Purpose.” The public is encouraged to join the congregation in this six-week study.
