Boys Cross- Country

Southern Fulton 17
Bellwood Antis 38

The Indian team just missed earning a perfect score in cross-country competition at Southern Fulton Oct. 3 when four of their runners placed 1, 2, 3 and 4. Isaac Fitz, 20:07, crossed the finish line first, followed by Josh Stocker, 20:15, Nate Voigh, 20:30, and Sage Minteer, 20:42. Jarrett Mellott, 21:27, placed seventh.

Girls Cross- Country

Southern Fulton had a big showing in an ICC crosscountry meet at home last Tuesday with seven of its runners finishing in the top 10. Three Lady Indians placed in the top five: Elizabeth Flaherty, 24:02, came in second; Cheyenne Risbon, 25:17, third; and Mary Dudich, 25:53. Lindsey Hollenshead, 26:59, Sierra Mc- Donald, 27:19, and Kennadee Morton, 27:31 ended six, seven and eight and Grace Dudich, 28:01, took the number 10 spot.

MHS varsity volleyball won against Everett 3-0 (25- 15, 25-16, 25-10). Katelyn Truax had 9 kills, 5 digs, and 2 aces. Aryanna Lupey added 9 kills, 2 digs, and 3 aces. Kacey Hann had 7 kills, 9 digs, 1 block, and 1 ace.

Southern Fulton hosted Northern Bedford Oct. 2 and came away with a 9-2 Sideling Hill League win. Cam McCray tallied five goals and an assist in the win. Casey Spade added a pair of goals, Darwin Mazariegos and Raymond Truax each scored one. Truax also added a pair of assists while Casey Spade, Jeremiah Ashkettle, and Caleb Elder added one. Keeper Colby Whiteside had five saves and Brent Barnhart had three. Shots SF 21 NBC 11, corners SF 5 NBC 1.

Chestnut Ridge 0

MHS defeated Chestnut Ridge 3-0 in Sideling Hill League play. Spartan goals were scored by Gage Henry, Brady Daniels, and Chad Bunch. Henry, Bryce Kylor, and Landon Seiders all had assists. Shots MHS 11 CR 0.

(From 9/30) Josh Booth scored assisted by Chad Bunch as the Spartans tied Rockwood 1-1. Goalie Caleb Strait had five saves. Shots MHS 15 R 8. Corners MHS7R3.

The Lady Spartans defeated the Fannett Metal Tigers on Saturday by a score of 1-0. The lone goal was scored by Emma Kendall. Kellyn Perry recorded 7 saves in goal for the Spartans. Everett 7 Southern Fulton 3

Lydia Hiller recorded two goals and Grace Moseman added one in the Lady Indians’ loss to Everett. Lauren Varner and Lydia Hiller provided assists for Southern Fulton.

Despite outshooting Tussey 17-5, the Lady Indians couldn’t find the back of the net. Indian keeper Bailey Burkett recorded 5 saves on 5 shots in the overtime tie.

The MHS Lady Spartans traveled to Tussey Mountain Oct. 3 and earned another victory. The Spartans got contributions from everywhere on the field. Morgan Kendall opened the scoring for the Spartans, Izzy Keefer and Emma Kendall each contributed 2 goals apiece, and Rebecca Wenschhof and Sira Navarro Cardenas Racha added 1 goal each. Jensen Boehme, Morgan Kendall, and Izzy Keefer each had 1 assist and Kailey Swope added 2 assists. The Spartans defense dominated Tussey’s offense, not allowing a shot of goal.

Madeline Miller scored her second goal of the game to break the halftime 2-2 tie assisted by Payton Kendall. Her first goal was assisted by Mara Broadwater. Shelby Harnish scored assisted by Quincy McMath. Forbes held a slight edge on shots 11-7, and a 10-3 advantage on penalty corners. Cardinal keeper Zoe Cutchall had 5 saves.

Southern Huntingdon 1

Madeline Miller scored twice, once assisted by Hailey Dodson. Mara Broadwater scored unassisted, and Payton Watkins scored her first goal of the season, assisted by Sierra Everhart. Forbes had a 23-2 advantage on shots and 15-2 advantage on penalty corners. Goalkeeper Harlie Strait had 1 save. Forbes Road 5 Huntingdon 0

Madeline Miller and Quincy McMath each scored a pair of goals as the Cardinals defeated Huntingdon in a Keystone League matchup. Sierra Everhart scored assisted by Mara Broadwater. Hailey Dodson assisted twice, McMath and Payton Kendall assisted once. Forbes held a 17-4 shot advantage and 7-3 advantage on penalty corners. Forbes keeper Zoe Cutchall had 4 saves and Brianna Waters had a defensive save.
