Three-car Pileup

State police investigated a car crash involving three cars on September 28 at 4:30 a.m. that was discovered by John Pozworski, 64, of Crown Point, Ind., as he was traveling east on I-70. Pozworski tried to swerve out of his lane to avoid the crash but in doing so lost control of his vehicle and collided into the two crashed cars. Unable to stop after the impact, Pozworski’s 2016 Volvo went through the right- side guiderail.

The original crash involved Jonathan Brooks, 27, of Scottsdale, Pa., and Victor Richards, 46, of Hyattsville, Md. The two cars were traveling in opposite directions when Brooks’ vehicle crossed over and collided with Richards’. No major personal injuries were suffered.

Car Crash

Robert Williams, 23, Warfordsburg, arrived at the state police barracks in Mc- Connellsburg to report a hit run. On October 4, Williams was travelling on Route 522 south when a green Suburban or Blazer entered his lane and struck the driver’s side mirror. The unknown person continued north and fled the scene. Reckless Endangerment Of Life

State police reported that on October 8 at 3:28 p.m. two unknown males were arguing in Warfordsburg when one allegedly fired a shotgun at the other during an argument. Anyone with any information should call 717- 485-3131.

Car Crash

State police reported a single car crash on October 9 at 7 a.m. An unknown driver was traveling south on Maddensville Pike Road in a 2003 Kenworth tractor-trailer when they lost control of both vehicle and trailer. The Kenworth came to a stop when it slid into a ditch, blocking both lanes of travel. Though there were minor injuries to truck and trailer, the driver was unharmed.


A theft occured on October 3, at 11:30 a.m., on South Second Street. State police report that a 78-year-old Mc- Connellsburg woman had money stolen from a bank envelope that she had left behind at the bank by mistake. Retail Theft

State police report that on October 6 at 6:41 p.m. an unknown female entered the McConnellsburg Dollar General store and stole merchandise. The thief then fled the scene. Anyone with information about this crime should call 717-485-3131.

Reckless Endangerment

Gregory Fuller, 37, Chambersburg, alerted state police that a single shot had been fired into his camper located near the intersection of Great Cove and Sinoquipe roads. The camper was empty at the time. It is believed that the crime was committed sometime between September 30 and October 6.


An unidentified Warfordsburg female, 38, reported to state police that she was a victim of harrassment on September 23 at 4 p.m. The victim, police said, was kicked in the left leg, and hit in her lower back with a closed fist by her assailant, a 49-year-old Warfordsburg male.

Theft From Motor Vehicle

A 44-year-old female of Warfordsburg reported a stolen Coach purse from her car. The purse contained various medications and other personal belongings. Anyone with information in regard to this crime is asked to call the state police at 717-485-3131.

Single-vehicle Accident

State police have reported that Veronica Thomas of Chambersburg was involved in a single-vehicle crash on September 27 at 4:20 p.m. The driver swerved to miss a squirrel and lost traction. The vehicle came to a stop when it struck a utility pole. No injuries were suffered.

Car Crash

A 1999 Saturn Station Wagon was exiting the Sheetz convenience store at Lincoln Way East on October 3 at 4:20 p.m. when it collided with with a 2000 Volkswagen Jetta. Both cars sustained minor damage but both drivers left the accident with no injuries.

Theft By Deception

A 61-year- old Mc- Connellsburg female is a victim of a fraudulent check. The woman received a check for $2,150.50 drawn on a closed account from an American Corporate Register Inc on September 29.

Criminal Mischief

On September 11 at 6 a.m. Bobbi Wible, 59, of Mc- Connellsburg, reported her vehicle being vandalized by unknown persons. The vandals launched an unknown object at the victim’s car, causing dents. Anyone with information is asked to call the state police at 717-485- 3131.
