Boro Council Approves Trick-Or-Treat

Council members gave the OK last Wednesday to hold the borough’s annual trick-or-treating night Thursday, Oct. 26, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Trick or treating precedes the Halloween parade that begins at 7 p.m. All households that want to participate are asked to turn their porch lights on.

Also at their Oct. 4 meeting, council members approved keeping their membership with the Pennsylvania Chamber of Commerce.

In other news, council agreed to allow the proposed Auto Zone store on Lincoln Way East to tie into the borough’s water system.

During regular business, council approved September bills in the amount of $14, 968.15. Receipts for the same period were $20,642.94. Checks were written for $10, 947.65, and the September balance was $61,511.74.

Council members present were Richard Buterbaugh, Mayor Michael Chilcote, secretary Jack Fields, Travis Bard, Pat Frazier, Pat Booth, Adam Gress and Dave Washabaugh.

Borough Council meets the first Wednesday of each month at 7:30 p.m. at the Fulton House. The next regular meeting will be Nov. 1.
