Harassment Charges

Franklin David Bottenfield, 53, of Breezewood, has been charged with harassment following an incident at the McConnellsburg American Legion home on June 22 when he punched a 54-year-old Wells Tannery man in the face. McConnellsburg state police said the incident took place at 5:14 p.m. and left the victim with bruises.

Diesel Fuel Stolen

Chambersburg state police reported diesel fuel valued at $106.10 was taken by William John Decyk III, 33, of McConnellsburg, from 8632 Lincoln Way West, Hamilton Township, in Franklin County on June 29. The theft occurred at 5:20 p.m., police said.

Minor Injuries Suffered In Franklin County Crash

A ’06 Chevy Cobalt driven by Ivy E. Snyder, 19, of Mc- Connellsburg, was struck by a ’10 Chevy HHR traveling on Lincoln Way West just east of Franklin Farm Lane as she attempted to turn left onto Lincoln Way East from the Sheetz parking lot. Chambersburg state police said that Lawrence F. Keiser II, 36, of New Oxford, Pa., failed to stop at a red light at 6:42 p.m. July 1 and struck Snyder’s vehicle. Both vehicles were towed from the accident scene. Snyder and a passenger in Keiser’s car were taken to Chambersburg Hospital to be treated for minor injuries, police reported.

Charged With Corruption Of Minors

Christopher Paul Hancik, 29, Flintstone, Md., was charged with indecent assault/ corruption of minors June 29 for an incident that took place on June 18 between 11 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. at a McConnellsburg address in Todd Township. The 9-year-old victim was taken to Fulton County Medical Center and later transported to Meritus Health Center for further examination, said McConnellsburg state police, who also reported that Hancik gave both a recorded and written admission. Hancik was remanded to Franklin County Prison on $30,000 bail.

Stolen Pa. Registration Plate

McConnellsburg state police reported the Pennsylvania registration plate of a vehicle located at 10892 Timber Ridge Rd., Needmore, was stolen. State police did not identify the male victim, who reported the theft on June 29 at 7:19 p.m.

Theft Of Package

A package that had been delivered on June 21 to the North 4th Street, McConnellsburg, home of 29-yearold Brittany Young and left on the porch was reported taken. State police in Mc- Connellsburg said the package has a value of $38.

Cycle Crash

Suzanne M. Murphy, 54, of Reading, Pa., was traveling east on Route 30 in Todd Township at 12:55 p.m. June 26 when she failed to negotiate a right-hand curve and the ’06 Harley-Davidson Sportster she was riding fell onto its left side. Mc- Connellsburg state police said the cycle slid across the highway and then caught on fire. Police were assisted by McConnellsburg Fire Co. and reported that Murphy, who was wearing a helmet, may have suffered a minor injury but was not taken to a medical facility.

Assault Weapon Stolen

A Black Panther Arms DPMS SPC 6.8 assault rifle belonging to Aaron Demory, 32, Hancock, Md., was reported taken from the 1103 Gordon Rd. home of the owner’s friend where it was being stored. McConnellsburg state police said the weapon was at the Thompson Township address from June 1 – June 24 when Demory was contacted by his friend, who told him the weapon had been stolen. Investigation into this theft continues, and state police ask anyone with information to contact them at 717-485- 3131.

Car Hits Deer

McConnellsburg state police reported assisting the driver of a ’10 Chevrolet Equinox found parked on the shoulder of Great Cove Road (Route 522) near the intersection of Gem Bridge Road in Belfast Township on June 26 at 10 p.m. Police said driver Michelle A. Gordon, 31, of Needmore, who had been traveling north at approximately 50 mph, brought her vehicle to a controlled stop on the shoulder of the northbound lane after the front bumper of her car struck a deer. Gordon was belted and suffered minor injuries.

Man Charged With Criminal Trespass

Patrick Todd Donelson, 47, of McConnellsburg, has been charged with criminal trespass, simple assault, harassment and criminal mischief after he arrived at an East Poplar Street, Mc- Connellsburg, address on June 29 and became angry, chasing several people outside into the home. He then attempted to force the front door of the residence open. McConnellsburg state police said that they had previously warned Donelson to only return to the property to collect his belongings. Victims of the 10:30 p.m. incident are an unidentified 58-yearold woman; Devon James Fuller, 18; Ricky Lee Lake, 18; and Trudy Lee Smith, 67, all of McConnellsburg. Donelson was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Devin Horne and committed to Franklin County Jail on $75,000 bail.

Charges Pending

Charges are pending in a case of criminal mischief that occurred July 1 in Bethel Township at 1:17 a.m. Mc- Connellsburg state police said a 48-year-old suspect, who is a Hancock man known to the police but not identified by them, drove his truck to 190 Hunters Lane and repeatedly backed it into vehicles belonging to Roger E. Reed Jr., 44, Warfordsburg; Alanna D. Fletcher, 37, Warfordsburg; and Amber M. Sigel, 26, Needmore.

DUI Reported

State police in McConnellsburg reported that at 6:10 a.m. on July 3 at First and Market streets in Mc- Connellsburg a 25-year-old woman was found operating her vehicle under the influence of alcohol.

Police did not identify the driver and said charges are pending.
