Vendor/Craft Show Warfordsburg Senior Center will host its first Christmas in July vendor/craft show Saturday, July 23, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Proceeds go to help with the operational costs of the center. Wells Tannery Homecoming The Wells Tannery homecoming will be held July 30. The parade begins at 11 a.m. Needed are marching groups, floats, clubs, bicycles and four-wheelers to be part of the parade. Call 685-3399 if interested in being in the parade. Food and entertainment begin at noon. Shindiggin and Tom Fix will be entertaining in the afternoon. There will be a car show also.

Yard Sale A yard sale will be held at Clear Ridge Community Building July 15 beginning at 9 a.m. Outside space for $8 and inside spaces available for $4. Proceeds benefit Clear Ridge Community Building. Food available also. To reserve space call 987-3804.

Bus Trip Modern Woodmen of America Camp 7948 will sponsor a bus trip to Niagara Falls Saturday, July 30. Bus departs from McConnellsburg Courthouse at 5 a.m. with a stop in Huntingdon at the Peebles Plaza. Alcoholics Anonymous Meetings Alcoholics Anonymous meetings are held every Monday morning at 11 a.m. (even holidays) in the Pearl Room, second floor of Fulton County Medical Center, and every Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the basement of McConnellsburg Alumni Building, located at 301 East Maple Street. Both are open meetings that anyone can attend.

Community Wellness/Silver Sneakers/Prime Community Wellness/Silver Sneakers/Prime will be held Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, from 6 a.m. to 7 a.m. and 1 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., and Wednesday and Friday, 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., at Fulton County Medical Center cardiopulmonary rehab gym. The cost is based on insurance. Call 717-485-6149 to see if insurance provider is accepted. Community Wellness is $40/month/person or $70/month/couple.

Narcotics Anonymous Narcotics Anonymous (NA) meets three times per week in McConnellsburg. NA is a nonprofit fellowship or society of men and women for whom drugs had become a major problem. Membership is open to all drug addicts, regardless of the particular drug or combination of drugs used including alcohol. Members share their successes and challenges in overcoming active addiction and living drug-free, productive lives through the application of the principles contained within the Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions of NA. Anyone is welcome no matter what was used or how big the desire to stop using is. Meetings are held Sunday and Thursday at 7 p.m. in the Fulton County Medical Center Pearl Room and Saturday at 7 p.m. at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, 228 North Second Street, Mc- Connellsburg. Farm Bureau Picnic Fulton County Farm Bureau will hold its annual picnic July 17, at 1:30 p.m., at the pavilion and picnic grounds at Siloam Methodist Church, 9541 Pleasant Ridge Road, Harrisonville, about three miles south on Rte. 655 or Pleasant Rige Road. Bring a covered dish, however, meats, drink, dessert, paper products and tableware will be provided. Nonmembers are most welcome to attend. Speakers, games and prizes. Ice Cream Festivals Fairview United Methodist Church will hold ice cream festivals July 16 and September 10. The church is located four miles north of Hustontown on North Hess Road. Homemade ice cream, soups, sandwiches, french fries and desserts will be for sale at 4 p.m.

Ice Cream Festival Center United Methodist Church will hold an ice cream festival Saturday, July 9, at 4 p.m. Turkey dinners will be available with filling, mashed potatoes, green beans or corn, applesauce or coleslaw. Also sandwiches, pie, cake and ice cream will be available. The festival is held at the community building next to Center Church off Waterfall Road, two miles north of Waterfall on Dublin Mills Road. All are welcome.

Free Lunch The first Friday of every month a free and nutritious lunch is served in the Faith & Life Center at Mc- Connellsburg United Methodist Church on the courthouse square from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

No Free Meal No free meal will be served at St. Paul Lutheran Church in July. Please join in again on the second Tuesday in August.

Breakfast Buffet A breakfast buffet will be held at St. Paul UCC, 4822 Steel Ave., Lemasters, July 9 from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. Served will be scrambled eggs, home fries, pancakes, chipped beef gravy, sausage, fruit, dessert and drinks. Cost is by donation.


Scout Raffle Drawing The Scout raffle drawing to benefit Needmore Boy Scout Troop 45 and Community Center will be held Saturday, July 9, at Gordon’s Cruise-in on Rte. 522 in Needmore at 7 p.m. Tickets will be on sale there from 6 p.m. until the drawing.

Historical Society House Museum Open Fulton County Historical Society’s Fulton House museum will be open every Friday from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m., beginning in June through the end of August. On display will be various types of needlework and tools donated to the museum by Samuel Buterbaugh and his estate. Come and check out items from an earlier time of Fulton County’s history.


Bluegrass Gospel Festival Bedford Chapel Church on Rte. 643, 4570 Flickerville Road, Warfordsburg, will host a festival July 16. Music starts at 5 p.m. Food stand opens at 4 p.m. Cake walks and good music. Entertainment provided by Guildford Station. Bring lawn chairs.

Bible School Calvary Independent Baptist Church, 140 Mc- Governs Lane, McConnellsburg, will hold Vacation Bible School July 17-21, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. There will be a bouncy house, games, fellowship and a family picnic on Thursday evening. Drop-off begins at 6:15 p.m. Ages 4 thru teens are welcome.

Homecoming Service Timber Ridge Cemetery Association and Antioch Christian Church invite all to homecoming services Sunday, July 24, at 2 p.m., at Antioch Christian Church, 7902 Timber Ridge Road, Big Cove Tannery. Included will be gospel music and a memorial message followed by fellowship at the adjacent pavilion. Meat, beverage and table settings will be furnished. Bring a covered dish. All are welcome.


Friends Of Meadow Grounds Meeting Friends of Meadow Grounds Lake meets the fourth Monday of each month at Community State Bank, 415 Fulton Drive, McConnellsburg, at 6 p.m.

FR Spirit Boosters Meeting Forbes Road Spirit Boosters will meet at 7 p.m., Thursday, July 14, in the high school library. Historical Society Meeting Fulton County Historical Summer membership meeting will be held July 8, at 7 p.m., at McConnellsburg United Presbyterian Church, 116 S. Second St., McConnellsburg. Speaker will be Historical Society member and author John Mentzer, who will speak about the books he’s written. He will soon be leaving this area. There will light refreshments in the church fellowship hall. Open to the public.


Covalt Reunion The descendants of Elmer and Nellie Covalt will hold their annual reunion Saturday, July 16, at Warfordsburg Community Park on Great Cove Road at 1 p.m. Friends and neighbors are welcome to attend.

Edwards Reunion The descendants of the late William M. and Minnie (Foster) Edwards will hold a reunion Saturday, July 16, at noon, at Cowans Gap State Park, Pavilion #4. Bring a covered dish and updates to share.
