The Fulton County commissioners opened a lone bid Tuesday morning for the proposed repair of county-owned bridge #3.

With Tom Morisi of Keller Engineers in attendance, commissioners Rodney McCray, Craig Cutchall and Irvin Dasher opened a bid submitted by county based company George S. Hann & Son in the amount of $117,337.67. The bid was tabled for further review on a motion by Dasher.

According to Morisi, $115,000 was initially requested through Act 13 funding to cover the repairs, which will include rock protection for both abutments as well as minor concrete repair and waterproofing. Morisi noted they will likely have to check to see if additional money can be added to the original request for funding.

A notice to proceed could be issued within the next several weeks, said Morisi, who estimated the work on the Johnson Road, Thompson Township, bridge may take two to three weeks to complete once initiated.

The commissioners also convened as the Salary Board on March 10 along with member county Treasurer Monica Seville to set the hourly rate for the county Election Board for 2015. As a result of action taken, Election Board members F. Gene Headley, Penelope A. Shives and Larry W. Palmer are slated to receive $12.88 per hour for their duties as well as the county rate for mileage logged. Others on hand for the Salary Board meeting were Chief Financial Officer Doug Tengler and chief clerk Sarah Duvall.

Tengler also met with the commissioners in executive session for personnel-related matters. No action was taken upon reconvening.

Tengler and Fulton County Services for Children Director Jean Snyder also met with the commissioners behind closed doors for a personnel matter. Again, no action was taken.
