Trout Rodeo Fulton County Sportsmen’s League will hold its annual open house and children’s trout rodeo Sunday, May 18, from noon to 3 p.m., at the children’s fishing access area on Esther Run. Registration starts at 10 a.m. Fishing starts at noon. A drawing for the raffle will begin at 3 p.m. Door prizes for children. The 2014 sportsmen badges are also available for a donation.

Mic Night Mic Night will be held at Warfordsburg Senior Center May 10, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Kitchen opens at 4 p.m. Food and drink will be available. Donation is $1. For more information call 717-294-6020.

Spring Festival The annual spring festival sponsored by Trinity United Church of Christ will be held Saturday, May 17, from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. rain or shine. The food stand will open with breakfast being served at 8 a.m. The menu throughout the day will include country ham sandwiches, soups, french fries, hot dogs, steamers, and drinks. Chicken barbecue will be available at 10:30 a.m. until sold out. Yard sale vendors are welcome. To reserve a space or for more information, call Rosie at 369-3619. Festival is held at the pavilion area behind the church. Meals can be eaten in the church social room. Trinity UCC is located at 13189 Main Street, Fort Loudon.

5-K Color Run/Walk A 5-K color run/walk to benefit Bridget Mellott and Corbin Troia, Saturday, May 31. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. and race starts at 9 a.m. Cost is $25 and $30 (includes T-shirt) and kids 10 and under are $15; $20 (includes T-shirt). Must preregister by May 16 to receive a shirt. Motorcycle Ride Operation: God Bless America XXIV, a motorcycle ride for veterans, will be held Sunday, June 2, from 9:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. at the Travel Center, I-81 and Rt. 16, Greencastle. Cost is $10 per person. Departure is set for noon with arrival at Martinsburg VA Hospital at approximately 1 p.m. No alcoholic beverages permitted. SF Basketball Camp Southern Fulton Elementary School will be the site for the 2014 Southern Fulton Girls Basketball Camp. The camp will be held from Monday, June 30, to Thursday, July 3, and will run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., for those four days at the elementary on Rt. 522 in Warfordsburg. Spring Carnival A spring carnival will be held Saturday, May 10, at Fulton County fairgrounds from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., rain or shine. Proceeds benefit McConnellsburg Elementary PTSO. Games start at 11 a.m. All tickets are $1 or 12 for $10 and 25 for $20. Food stand open all day.

Family Night Join Fulton Fatherhood Friday, May 30, for a family night at Cowans Gap State Park. Start the evening off with a nature walk around the lake, followed by grilling, games and s’mores.This is a completely free evening for the whole family. New York City Trip Modern Woodmen of America Camp 7948 is sponsoring a bus trip to New York City Saturday, May 17. Summer Mission Experience “Hands & Feet Of Hope,” a summer mission experience open to all junior and senior high students will be held June 22-28 in Fulton County. Students receive community service hours for light construction projects, home repairs, handicap access, painting, yardwork, etc. Evening activities, games and worship. Silent Auction Fundraiser McConnellsburg Music Boosters is holding a silent auction to help raise funds for the music programs at McConnellsburg elementary, middle and high schools. It will be held May 13 at 5:30 p.m. in the high school gym lobby and May 22 at 5 p.m. in the high school gym lobby. Concert will start at 7:30 p.m. on May 13 and 7 p.m. on May 22. There will be more than 30 items to bid on. All are welcome.

Rabies Clinic A small animal rabies vaccination clinic will be held at Wells Tannery Community Park May 24, from 8 a.m. to noon. Cost is $10 per pet. Relay For Life The 2014 Fulton County Relay For Life cancer fundraiser will be held Friday, May 16, and Saturday, May 17, beginning at 4 p.m. Friday and ending at 11 a.m. Saturday at McConnellsburg High School track, 151 East Cherry Street. Scholarship Available Ashlyn’s Angels is currently accepting applications for its scholarship program. One scholarship will be given to each county school district. Christian schools, cyber schools, home schools and any other alternative school should apply in the school district where the school is located. Gospel Music Concert Steve Hess and Southern Salvation from Nashville, will be in concert Sunday morning, May 18, at 10:30 a.m., at Pleasant Ridge Church of the Nazarene, Harrisonville. Special Services Bailey’s Crossing will perform at Mt. Zion Lutheran Church, 10987 Little Cove Road, Mercersburg, Sunday, June 1. They will provide special music, sponsored by Mt. Zion Union Cemetery Association, at the annual homecoming services beginning at 11:30 a.m. The service is held once a year to honor community graduates and longtime members. All contributions received that day, unless designated otherwise, are used for the upkeep and maintenance of the surrounding cemetery. The cemetery is maintained solely from voluntary contributions. Everyone is invited to stay for lunch immediatey following the service.


Memorial Services Memorial services will be held at Jerusalem Christian Church May 18 at 2 p.m. John McKee will deliver the message and special music will be provided by the Darrell Trail family.
