Walking At Alumni Gym McConnellsburg Alumni & Friends Assoc. will open the alumni community gym every Monday, Wednesday and Friday between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., for anyone to get out of the cold and exercise in the gym. This is a free activity. If Central Fulton School District is closed because of the weather, the alumni gym will also be closed. Any questions call 485-0221 or 377-3643.

Earth Day Festival An Earth Day Festival, organized by the Fulton County Library’s Teen Advisory Board, will be held at the main library Saturday, April 26, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. This event is free to the public and will include crafts and games for children, food and much more.

Szwydek Run/Walk The fifth annual Szwydek 5K run/walk will get under way at Forbes Road Junior/Senior High School Saturday, April 19, at 9 a.m. Registration forms may be obtained by contacting Nancy Szwydek at 240-291- 6920 or at any of the three county high schools. In addition, forms can be obtained through the Forbes Road School District Web site at http://frsd.k12.pa.us. Forms and registration fees can be sent directly to Semper Fi Memorial 5K Run/Walk at 276 Mays Chapel Road, Warfordsburg, PA 17267.

Food Auction Hustontown Area Volunteer Fire Co. will sponsor a food auction April 12 beginning at 2 p.m. Kitchen opens at noon. Vendor is Mike Sullivan. Frozen foods, snacks, dry goods, miscellaneous items available.

Open Stage Hustontown Volunteer Fire Co. will sponsor an open stage Saturday, April 26, at 6 p.m. The kitchen opens at 5 p.m.

Easter Egg Hunt An Easter egg hunt will be held Sunday, April 13, at 2 p.m., at McConnellsburg Alumni and Friends Center, McConnellsburg, for ages 12 and under. There will be 25 small prizes and 4 big prizes awarded. The Easter Bunny will be appearing. Bring your own cameras for pictures.

Motorcycle Ride Operation: God Bless America XXIV, a motorcycle ride for veterans, will be held Sunday, June 2, from 9:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. at the Travel Center, I-81 and Rt. 16, Greencastle. Cost is $10 per person. Departure is set for noon with arrival at Martinsburg VA Hospital at approximately 1 p.m. No alcoholic beverages permitted. Softball Registration BiValley girls softball is taking applications for local softball league (ages 4 and up). SF Basketball Camp Southern Fulton Elementary School will be the site for the 2014 Southern Fulton Girls Basketball Camp. The camp will be held from Monday, June 30, to Thursday, July 3, and will run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., for those four days at the elementary on Rt. 522 in Warfordsburg. Cost is $50 and includes a daily snack, instruction and camp Tshirt. There will be daily individual and team competitions and there will be awards given at the end of the camp to participants. Movie Night! As part of the Fulton Fatherhood Initiative Program, one of the goals at Fulton County Family Partnership Inc. is to encourage positive family interactions. Join in Friday, April 25, for a family movie night at Fulton Theater in McConnellsburg. Snacks, crafts and the movie “Despicable Me!” are all included. New York City Trip Modern Woodmen of America Camp 7948 is sponsoring a bus trip to New York City Saturday, May 17. Easter Egg Hunt Forbes Road Lions Clubs Easter egg hunt will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 19, weather conditions permitting. In case of inclement weather or muddy grounds, the event will take place in Forbes Road High School gym. Candy and special prizes for toddlers thru 12 years old. Raffle tickets are now on sale to support the egg hunt and other Lions Club projects.

Easter Egg Hunt McConnellsburg Lions Club will host its annual Easter egg hunt for youths 12 and under at Lions Community Park Saturday, April 19, at 10 a.m. There will be different age groups with prizes for each group.

Mic Night Mic Night will be held at Warfordsburg Senior Center April 12, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Kitchen opens at 4 p.m. Food and drink will be available. Donation is $1. For more information call 717-294-6020.

5K Run/Walk A 5K run/walk will be held April 26 at Chambersburg. Registration sheets are located on the CAMS South Middle School’s Web site at www.chambersburg.k12.pa.us. Start time is 8:30 a.m. for a 1- mile run run for ages 12 and under and 9 a.m. for the 5K run/walk. Quilt Club Meeting Fulton County Quilt Club will meet April 19, at 10 a.m., at Fulton County Library in McConnellsburg. The club welcomes anyone who may be interested in quilting, regardless of skill level.

Garden Club Meeting North End Garden Club will meet Tuesday, April 22, at 11 a.m., at Fulton County Library in the community room for a tea luncheon and meeting. Master Gardener Gary Ankney will present information on the community Victory Garden behind McConnellsburg Fire Co. Bring a fancy finger food, teacup and hat. Drinks will be provided. Teen Advisory Board Meeting Fulton County Library’s Teen Advisory Board (TAB) will meet in the library’s community room Friday, April 11, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Teens are asked to bring their musical instruments and music stands as well as any recyclables they have collected for Earth Day.

Blood Drive A Red Cross blood drive will be held April 10, from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m., at Faith Center in Warfordsburg.

Immunization Clinics The Department of Health is providing public immunization clinics by appointment only at the following locations: Fulton County Medical Center – every Thursday from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.; Hustontown Senior Center – fourth Friday of every month from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.; Warfordsburg Senior Center – third Friday of every month from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Eligible at low cost if underinsured (insurance does not cover the vaccine) or uninsured. Revival Several churches in the communities invite all to join in seeking God for a spiritual revival. Revival Come and experience the refreshing presence of the Holy Spirit at revival services at My Father’s House Ministries April 18-20. Video Center United Methodist Church will present the video “Isaiah 9:10 Judgement” Wednesday, April 30, 2013, starting at 6 p.m. A biblical prophecy decoded by Rabbi Jonathan Cahn best-selling author of the “Harbinger.” The two-hour video compares the United States with ancient Israel when the Israelites failed to heed God’s warnings. Light refreshments will be served between the two videos. The church is located between Waterfall and Hustontown off Rt. 655, turn on Dublin Mills Road, continue approximately two miles, church is on the right. No cost and everyone is welcome.

Summer Mission Experience “Hands & Feet Of Hope,” a summer mission experience open to all junior and senior high students, will be held June 22-28 in Fulton County. Students receive community service hours for light construction projects, home repairs, handicap access, painting, yardwork, etc. Evening activities, games and worship. Cost per student is yet to be determined dependent upon funding sources. All meals, lodging, activities, Creation tickets, supplies and materials included. Open House The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will hold an open house at their meetinghouse April 12, 2014, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. The meetinghouse is located at 182 Buchanan Trail, McConnellsburg, in Penn’s Village Shopping Center. Anyone interested in increasing their awareness and understanding of the church, its programs and how Latter-day Saints worship is cordially invited to attend. The members of McConnellsburg congregation routinely participate in many acts of service benefitting Fulton County residents. Displays will provide insights into how Jesus Christ is central to the church, which bears His name. In addition, they will demonstrate the role of family; the lay ministry of the local congregations; the major efforts to provide humanitarian service; and the major emphasis on interfaith relations. Members will be available to answer questions. Refreshments and opportunities for discussion will be provided.

Climate Change Program Fulton County Environmental Action Group will present a free public program “Do You Have Questions On Climate change?” given by David Titley, professor of meteorology at Penn State at 7 p.m., Wednesday, April 16, in the community room of Fulton County Library.

Library Building Dedication Fulton County Library Board of Directors will hold a building dedication at the main library in honor of the considerable financial contributions made by Anna and the late Paul Shockey. The dedication will be held Saturday, April 26, at 11 a.m. The public is welcome to attend.

Community Victory Garden Thursday, April 24: 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. – McConnellsburg’s third annual Victory Garden, sponsored by Fulton County Master Gardeners, begins its 2014 program. The garden is located at Second Street behind McConnellsburg Firehall. Cost is $25/person or $30 for a family for the entire season. This is a hands-on experience offering a weekly, summer-long class during the growing season from April to September. This program provides a unique experience for class members to learn about and to participate in the process of vegetable gardening, starting from soil preparation in the spring to the final fall harvest and preparing the garden for winter. In addition you get to share in the vegetables you grow.

Miniature Garden Workshop Penn State Extension Master Gardeners will hold a miniature garden (fairy) workshop Saturday, April 12, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., at McConellsburg firehall. Cost is $10/person. To reserve a seat call 717-485- 4111. Program presented by Fulton County Master Gardeners. Learn to make own whimsical magical miniature garden at home. One person will take home a door prize. Open House Fulton County Community Christian School in Needmore will be open for visitors April 14-17, 2014, between 8:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. Science projects will be on display in the gym area and classrooms will be available for visitors. Preregistration packets will be distributed to anyone who requests one. The pre-K program is open to students who will be 4 years old on or before September 30, 2014. The kindergarten program is open to students who will be 5 years old on or before September 30, 2014. Benefit Book Sale A giant benefit book sale will be held May 9-11. Over 60,000 new and used books of all types, plus CDs, maps, sheet music, magazines, videotapes and artwork will be offered for sale at bargain prices at the 30th annual Friends of Legal Services book sale at Laird Hall on the Wilson College campus in Chambersburg. REUNION

SF Class Of 1984 Reunion Southern Fulton Class of 1984 has planned their 30th class reunion for May 31, at Whips Cove Church social hall, 5044 Moss Road, Warfordsburg. Social time will be at 5:30 p.m., with dinner at 6 p.m. The evening will continue at The Log Cabin in Hancock for those who wish to attend. Community Picnic Everyone is invited to a free community picnic Saturday, May 17, at Lions Club Park in Mc- Connellsburg, from noon to 3 p.m. There will be good food, good fun with games for the family, and good entertainment. Pancake/Sausage Breakfast A pancake and sausage breakfast will be held April 26 at Asbury United Methodist Church, 7404 Lincoln Highway, Harrisonville, from 6 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Regular, blueberry and buckwheat pancakes, sausage, puddin, meat, fruit, coffee and tea will be available. Bake Sale McLaughlin’s Drug Store in Penn’s Village Shopping Center will hold a bake sale Monday, April 14, and Tuesday, April 15, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. All proceeds go to the American Cancer Society Relay For Life.

Dinner/Auction Renewing Hope Ministries is dedicated to the restoration and relief of ladies who are fighting the devastating effects of addictive or self-destructive habits. Renewing Hope is having its second annual dinner/auction Saturday, April 12, at Breezewood Firehall. The silent auction is from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Dinner will be served at 6 p.m. and the traditional auction begins after dinner. Tickets are $10 each or a table of 8 for $75. Spring Tea The Historical Society Museum’s annual spring tea will be held Saturday, April 12, at 11:30 a.m., in the Fulton House in McConnellsburg. Hoagie Sale St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Big Cove Tannery, will hold a hoagie sale Saturday, April 12, at 14660 Great Cove Road, Big Cove Tannery. Soup Night McConnellsburg United Presbyterian Church soup night will be held each Wednesday evening from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. through April 9. All are welcome to come and enjoy a free meal and great fellowship. Special Lenten services follow from 6:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.
