Election Day Soup and Sandwich Sale The Knobsville United Methodist Church is having a soup and sandwich sale on Election Day, Tuesday, November 8, 2011, from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. Eat in or take out. Menu: hot dog, kraut dog, chili dog, sloppy joe, vegetable soup, ham and bean soup, chicken corn soup, chili, french fries, side salad, beverages, and desserts. Election Day Breakfast Wells Tannery Park Association will be offering an Election Day breakfast and lunch starting at 7 a.m., on Election Day at the park. Use the door opposite the one normally entered for voting for the meal. Everyone welcome.

Spaghetti Dinner St. Stephen Catholic Church is sponsoring an Election Day spaghetti dinner Tuesday, November 8. Lunch will be served from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dinner is served from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Meatball subs will be available. Cost for adults will be $6 and $3 for children under 12 years old. Takeouts will be available.

Turkey Dinner A turkey dinner will be held November 12 at Shade Gap Auxiliary building beginning at 3 p.m. Cost is $9 for adults and $4.50 for children 4-10 and under 4 are free. Benefits Shade Gap Fire Co.

Spaghetti Dinner A spaghetti dinner will be held November 5, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., at Orchard Ridge First Church of God in Hancock. Sponsored by the Women’s Ministry. A freewill offering will be accepted. More information may be obtained by calling 301-678-5423.

Free Community Meal A free community meal will be held November 8, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., at Asbury United Methodist Church. A free spaghetti dinner will be held at the church located at 7404 Lincoln Highway, Harrisonville. Served will be spaghetti, coleslaw, bread and beverages at no cost. All are welcome. St. Stephen Family Life Committee is sponsoring Grandma Ann’s apple and cherry pie sale Saturday, November 19. Pies can be picked up beginning at 9 a.m. The cost is $8 for plain crust and $9 for crumb topping. To place an order, call 717-485-5917.

Spaghetti Dinner A spaghetti dinner will be held at Hustontown Firehall Sunday, November 6, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Proceeds benefit Dorothy Shotts, a recovering cancer survivor. Menu will be spaghetti, salad, garlic bread, cake and beverage. Cost is adults $7; 5-10 years, $3.50; and under 5 are free. Sponsored by HAFCO Ladies Auxiliary.

Spaghetti Dinner An all-you-can-eat spaghetti dinner will be held Saturday, November 5, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., at Buck Valley Christian Church, 2281 Harmonia Road, Warfordsburg. Donations benefit Hagerstown Rescue Mission. Served will be spaghetti, fruit cup, salad, dessert, garlic bread and beverage. Adults are $5; children ages 5-12, $3; and under 5 are free or family $20.

Woodland Owners Banquet Woodland Owners of the Southern Alleghenies will feature Tracey Coulter of the American Chestnut Foundation at its annual banquet at the Apple Bin Restaurant Thursday, November 10, at 6 p.m. Coulter will present a history of the blight that eliminated chestnut trees from the Northeast and talk about the progress being made to bring blight-resistant trees to forests. Fee for WOSA members is $16 per person; $21 for nonmembers. Checks payable to WOSA may be sent to Ben Tresselt, 110 Long Bend Beach Road, Hopewell, PA 16650. Ham Potpie Dinner A ham potpie dinner will be held at Warfordsburg Presbyterian Faith Center on November 12, from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. There will also be a bake sale. Dinner is by donation and proceeds benefit local missions.

Pancake Supper Whips Cove Church pancake supper on Saturday, November 5, beginning at 5 p.m. Buttermilk and buckwheat pancakes, eggs, pudding, sausage and ham, sausage gravy. Donations accepted. More information may be obtained by contacting 717-294-3229.

Free Meal St. Paul Lutheran Church at 220 North Third Street, McConnellsburg, will serve a free meal the second Tuesday of each month from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Come and enjoy good food and fellowship. Note: no free meal in October but will continue again in November.
